BURGLAR SHOOTS TWICE. | CONSTABLE IN HOSPITAL. 1 [By Electric Telegraph—Copyright] [United Press Assoct vtion.] Melbourne, April 10. Ad early morning passer-by noticed two raon leave Massey’s, chemist, Parkville,- and informed a couple of police, who, separating, searched the vicinity. Constable McCosker overtook and attempted to arrest one man, who drew a revolver and shot McCosker through the left wrist. The constable again attempted to grapple with the man, who then fired point blank and wounded McCosker in tho abdomen. The two men bolted. The other constable, attracted by the shooting, conveyed McCosker to the hospital. His condition is serious. A drawer of Massey’s containing £3 was found in the vicinity.
