MAORI WOMAN DROWNED
[Per Press Assouation.] Auckland, April 9
On Tuesday as Rangi Pai and a boy about 10 years of ag« were crossing the Wuikato near Rangiriri the canoe capsized just when crossing had buon half made. The woman's struggles who seen by people on the bank, but before any assistance could arrive she disappeared, the body being recovered some time after. The boy managed to keep afloat until muchneeded assistance saved him from almost certain death. The woman belonged to Horahora, near Rangiriri.
A CHILD'S DEATH,
Invereargill, April 9
Inspector Norwood received information this morning that Lorona Warnecker, aged 2J years, died suddenly at Nokomai yesterday.
