THE NEED OP POPULATION. Brisbane, April 5. Speaking at Brisbane of the civic reception to the Royal Commissioners at Rockhampton, Mr Foster, Canadian representative, urged the necessity of the Dominions acting in unison with Britain in their trade. The lesson borne in upon him since he had looked upon the vast potentialities of New Zealand and Australia was that what these countries needed was population. If this land could be fifled with a sturdy, l enterprising population, no miracle could be recorded in the world’s history so great as this miracle would involve.
