TOKO NOTES.
(From our own Correspondent.) Owing to a confusion of folios in my last budget, there was a mix-up between the tennis match and the gun club’s affairs, the latter’s report being left out altogether. The paragraph stating that the tennis match would be held on the 1/th inst. referred to the gun club match. Cun Club. A meeting was held on Saturday night last to form a Gun Club, and was well attended, Mr W. H. Were taking the chair. It was decided to form an affiliated Gun Club. The election of officers resulted President, W. H. Were; Vice-Presidents, Messrs R. Morison, Alex Ferguson, E. Hine, and J, Lucena; committee, Messrs J. Kilpatrick, M. Gernhoefer, Alex Ferguson, C. Tuck, J. Richie j handicappere, Messrs J. Kilpatrick, C. Tuck, and Alex Ferguson; secretary and treasurer, 'H. H. Judd. Already some twenty’ members have been elected. Mr Gernhoefer* has kindly’ consented to thd club having the use of a paddock for its purpose. The opening match (sweepstake) is to take place on the 17th inst. Sports Committee. The trophy’s which are on view in Mr Bain’s store for the sports, attract the eye of the admirers and several athletes are lidted doiiig hard training. Mir Elder, of Stratford, who has the refreshment booth, was down today malting final arrangements. The committee has the work well in hand, and hoping for a fine day, the sports no doubt should be a jrecord.
