No sjngles were played owing to tho rpugh weather delaying tho start, liesuits were as follows.:— • Ladies’ Doubles.—Miss Cumberworth apd Miss Hine (Toko) beat Miss, L. West and Miss Jolmsort (Te Wera) d—2; Misses Were (Toko) beat Mrs , Boyle and Miss C. West (Te Wera), 6—■!. ■ : ■. . . Men’s Doubles.—Messrs. W. Stewart and N. Francis (To Wera) .beat Messrs. W. H. Were and Y. Falder , (Toko),, 6—3; Messrs. H. H. Judd and E. Hine (Toko) beat Messrs. A. Stewart and G. Mulholland (Te Wera) Jo —5. Mixed Doubles.—Miss M. Hine and Mr Y. Falder (Toko) beat Miss L. West and Mr W. Stewart (Te Wera)* dj—l; Mis/s Cumberworth and Mr E. Hine (Toko) beat , Miss L. West and Mr N. 'Francis (To Wera), 6—l. Afternoon tea was provided by the Toko ladies,, ~A match has been fixed to take place on the 17th hist. FARMERS’ UNION.

Eleven entries have been received for the, calf competition to take place on .the day of the sport?. As Toko has a name of. having, the best, calves in the district, the public should have an Opportunity to see some real line cattle. > The calves will be. judged by three gentlemen, who are recognised as being the best stockmen in the district. Cleary, who has been away for some time to Christchurch on account of ill health, returned to Toko last week much improved by his stay in the Cathedral City. _ j Mr Geo. Morrison, who has been to Wellington for his Easier holidays, returned on Saturday night. Mr T. J. Hai •risen, from Matiere and formerly of Toko, is spending a fortnight in the district, and leaves on Friday for his return journey, via Main Trunk.
