BLOWN TO PIECES.
MAN KILLED AND YOUTH SERIOUSLY INJURED. At West Wyalong (New South -Wales) recently an explosion occurred at the True Blue mine, resulting in a miner, Edward Hoskins, being literally’ ’blown to pieces, and a youth named John Stymans, who was working with Hoskins, being severely injured, having a large hole in the body -'where he was St'niclc by some missile, and the scalp torn' 'off, besides numerous smaller injuries.' There were no others within sdrhb distance of Hoskins and Stfyrnahs, ! sO that it was practically impossible to account for the explosion. The only information availible shows that'‘the magazine at the 950 ft. level ealpldded, killing and injuring the men'bhrtied. •' One of HosltifisVlegs was picked up ‘twenty yards from the magizine'; this, with the trunk of the body, being all beeir recovered up to the 'present. Miners Working in the level above Avhere the explosion occurred had i narrow "escape from being smothered! Although severely.injured, Stymans was sensible when brought to the mine top, but collapsed shortly ir$ er - i, .1..,.. ' ■
