H.M.S. NEW ZEALAND.

The warship New Zealand has arrived. , .i r /Vf' • - Captain Halsey, who is in command of the cruiser battleship New Zealand, is a well-known and distinguished officer. He took part in the defence of Ladysmith as one of the famous Naval Brigade under Sir Hedworth Meux (then Captain Lambton). Captain Halsey also served as flag-captain to a former commander-in-chief. He has among his officers Prince George of Battcnborg, two peers, and H. E. Grace (son of the famous cricketer) The cruise of the New Zealand, over 40,000 miles, is the longest ever undertaken! by a British warship.
