DENBIGH SPORTS CLUB.
ANNUAL GATHERiNO. Unsettled and stormy w sat her .interfered considerably with tlie local fepoits club’s gathering at Denbigh road on Thursday, and finance as well as competitors was considerably affected thereby. The following are the results of the various events:—
100yds Race.—F. Carrol 1, W. Norton 2.
Girls’" Race.—o Meads 1, R. Adderson 2.
'22oyds Race.—G. Anderson 1, R. Carroll 2. Local Saw..- j -Askew and Luders 1, Kelly and Carroll 2. 440yds Race.—W. Norton 1, R. Carroll 2.
Stepping the Chain.—G. Prince 1. Single Ladies’ Race.—Mias Cameron I,*Miss Meads 2. Open Saw.—Yolzkc and mate 1, Potroz Bros. 2. Local Chop.—A. Nash 1, R. Carroll 2. Half-mile Race.—A. Vickers 1, G. Anderson 2. Open Chop.—A. Kaspar 1, J. Potrbz 2 .
Married Men’s Race.—McKenzie 1. Wrestling for Boys (14 years or under). —J. Mill's and E. Casey were the winners.
During the day a number of childrens’ races were run, these being under, the charge of Messrs Fergusson, Wheyburn and' Mills. Messrs J. Kelly and A. Mills acted as haridicappers for the running events and Mr A. Volzke for sawing and chopping. Thanks are due to Mr Luders for the use of his grounds, and to donors of trophies, of which there were a fair number.
11l the-evening a dance in connection with the day’s outing was held in the Midhirst Hall, and was well attended, and after paying all expenses a small -blan.ee remains over for next year.
