To complete the reticulation of the Borough, and to provide means for better purification, by filters or other-

wise. Drainage Loan of £12,000. To provide drainage for all that portion of the Borough bounded on the North by Pembroke Road, South by Opunake Road, East by Swansea Road ; and West by Hamlet Street. A number of ratepayers are under the impression that only the north-east portion of the Borough is included in the drainage scheme. This is not so. Every street included in the boundaries above mentioned will bo sewered. £ISOO of this loan will bo used to make advances to ratepayers in connection with the execution of drainage and sanitary works on their properties. Street Improvements Loan of £20,000 Provision is made for improvements to the under-mentioned streets in the way of metalling, gravelling, forming, formation of paths, and in some instances kerbing and channelling:—

Broadway, between Flint Road and Warwick Road, flcgan Street, along its whole length. Fenton Street, between Broadway and Cordelia Street. Juliet Street, between Pembroke Road and Fenton Street; between Lear Street and Warwick Road. Celia Street, between Broadway and Western boundary of Borough. Miranda Street, between Page Street and Warwick Road; between Fenton Street and Pembroke Road. Orlando Street, between Lear Street and Celia Street, and "between Romeo Street and Warwick Road; between Regan Street and Pembroke Road. Warwick Road, between Broadway and Eastern boundary; between Broadway and two chains past Hamlet i Street. Ariel Street, from Lear Street to about eight chains south of Celia Street; betweenßegan Street and Pembroke Road; Portia. Street, from Page Street to about 15 chain's south (path on east side). S&tith' from Regan Sttedt ’about 5/clikins, between ‘ Stfefet 1 and Pembroke Road.'” " ; Hamlet Street, Celia Street to Warwick Road (path); between Seyton and Pembroke Road. Pembroke Road, from Broadway to across hollow near Mr Sharrocks’ property; between Broadway and , Bregon, Road. , ~ Swansea Rpad, .between Pembroke Road frnd Regan iStreet, Seyton Street, between Orlando Street and Cordelia .Street; between Broadway and Hamlet Street. Cordelia Street, between Rosalind and Falstaff Street (paths on east side); between Fenton Street and Cloton Road (path on west side); between Regan Street and Pembroke Road (paths on both sides). Brecon Road, from Regan Street to Mr Jenkinson’s; Regan Street to Jas. Robson’s (path); from Mr Collins’ to Mr Jenkinson’s (path), Kerbing and channelling will be carried out in Broadway, part of Regan Street, part of Fenton Street, part of Juliet Street, part of Celia Street, part of Miranda Street, part of Pembroke Road west, and part of Seyton Street. It will bo well for ratepayers to remember that a qualification possessed by either husband or wife is possessed by both of them.
