EASTER CYMKHANA AT STRATFORD.

The buckjumping event at the Stratford Gymkhana on Easter Monday has aroused considerable interest amongst lovers of the noble animal. It is stated that one well-known and well-tried rider lias announced his intention of wagering LIU that the Association cannot produce a horse to throw him. Of course the Associa tion are after him, and have already procured two well-known horses who can buck rider and saddle off without breaking the girth. There should be good fun watching this contest, from a safe distance, say, from one of the grandstands, where the charge is only Is for gentlemen and sixpence for children and ladies. A number of tradesmen are hard at work preparing fancy posters for the poster race. The framework of some of these creations are weird in the extreme. A team of heavy weights picked from the General Committee of the Association have challenged the winning team in the tugof war event, and are anxious to show tha military mon how to pull or tug. The trotting races are filling well,

and given a fine day, the Gymkhana should be worth attending. Entries close positively on Tuesday, 18th March
