TARIKI HORTICULTURAL SOCIETY.

A SUCCESSFUL EXHIBITION

The tenth annual show of the Tariki Horticultural Society was hold yesterday, the show being well up to the standard set in previous years, though misfortune in indifferent weather still pursues the Society. As usual Stratford was well represented, and visitors had nothing but praise for the fine display made by Mr F. Davis, whose cactus dahlias were truly magnificent. Mrs G. T. James was to the fore in the cookery section and in sweet pea classes, while Messrs Boyles and Wilkie were showing vegetables, and Mesdames Arden, Reader, and E. C. Morison In the decorative, as well as cut flowers. Mr R McK. Morison, of the Stratford nurseries, had an excellent collection of pot plants on view.

The following are winners and runners up for the points prizes in the various sections:—Pot plants, Mr J. Therkleson 49 points, Mrs Therklesen, sen., 23; Cut blooms, Mrs Frank Arden 54, Mrs J. Wheeler 28; [fruit, Mrs Rutledge 1; farm produce, Norfolk Road School 35, Mr G. H. Boyles 23; vegetables, Mr G. H. Boyles 69, Mr B. S. Longstaff 54; preserves,. Mrs J. Therkleson 18, Mrs V. Brittain 15; cookery, etc., Mrs G. T. James 52, Mrs V, Brittain and Mrs Spray 20* points, each; fancy work, Mrs J. Sutherland 33, Master G. Jones. 20; juvenile section, Ivy Therklesen 13, , Hilda Heal 8, Praise is due to the patron (Mr Trimble), president (Mr Therkleson) and secretary (Mr Rumball), all of whom,put in a great amount of hard work, and are mainly responsible, with Committee, for the success of the show.
