VALEDICTORY.
Members of the Stratford Post and r Telegraph staff met shortly after 5 o’clock last evening to bid farewell » Mr John Laurenson, who has during the past five years occupied a responsible position in the Stratford office. On behalf of the staff, Mr S. G. Stanton (Postmaster) presented Mr Laurenson with a sloid silver breakfast set of handsome design. In making the presentation, Mr Stan■Mston feelingly referred to Mr Laurenson’s sterling ability and many good qualities, very much regretting the loss of such an able officer. Mr F. M. Scully (chief accountant in the Money Order a.nd Savings Bank branch at Now Plymouth) and several members of the local staff also spoke, referring to the good work done by Mr Laurenson and wishing him every success in his new position. Mr Laurenson, in a neat speech, thanked one and all for their good wishes and tangible mark of goodwill. Good-bye and a hearty hand-shake all round terminated the proceedings. On Thursday evening a farewell was tendered to Mr and Mrs Laurenson by the -congregation f of the Methodist Church, and a prei sentation of a fine travelling rug was made by Mr J.
