REWAPAPER PROPRIETORS' ASSOCIATION
(Per Press Association.) Auckland, February 2(>. Tlio Newspaper Proprietors’ Association decided last night to register under the Arbitration Act. The re port congratulated the president upon the steps taken to facilitate the transmission and publication of the Financial and Public Works Statements, and thanked the (tovernment for tne proir.pt and efficient manner in which the suggestions were curried out. Officers wen 1 elected as follows: President, Mr P. Selig; vice-president Mr F. Hyman; committee, Messrs. (1 Pdmulell, 0. Fenwick, ii. Horton, (t. McUohie, I l '. Pirani ; secretary, f!. Keys; auditor, Ff. Kerr. A letter was received from the Hon. I*’. M. Ik Fisher staling that he had received many requests from relatives that when the deaths of old age or military pensions were recorded in the newspapers, the fact of the deceased. being a pensioner should 3;>pr-?ssed, as no good purpose was seined, while i„ When hurt the feelings of relatives.
