TRADE COMMISSION.

THE OPENING IN DUNEDIN. (Ter Press Association.) Dunedin, February 25. The Enquiry Trade Commission opened hero this morning, when the members were cordially welcomed by Mr J. Hislop (Under-secretary for Internal Affairs) on behalf of«tho Government, Mr Malcolm Ross (New Zealand Officer), and Mr J. London (President of the Chamber of Commerce). Mr Vincdiit, chairman, replying, said ho was anxious to hear everything possible in tire nature of information tending to improve the trade between the self-governing dominions' and thfMotherland, and increase tho already close commercial ties which - unite the Old Country with New Zealand. He expressed gratitude frtr the excellent arrangements and the cordiality of tho welcome. Mr London then submitted various remits from the Chamber of Com- \ merce.
