The demand of a large section of the press for a triennium service is growing. It is stated that Germany’s plan in war time would he to throw half a million upon the French covering line, breaking it in three points. At present, France has only 178,000 covering troops, and on the fifth day of the war would find the enemy enter the French concentration, which would scarcely be begun.
