WOODVILLE JOCKEY CLUB. (Per Press Association.) Woodville, February 20. The weather was again delightful for the second day’s racing of the Woodville District Jockey Club’s autumn meeting. The attendance, although not quite as large as the day before, was satisfactory. Speculation was brisk, a sum of £10,091 passing through the totalisator, making £21,173 for the meeting, which is £1568 more than last year. The following are additional results:— Ballance Hack Welter, of 75 soys: seven furlongs.—Huia, 8.7,, 1; The Settler, 8.7, 2; Waitoto, 10.5, 3. Won by half a length,- with Waitoto two lengths away third. Time, Imin 29 2-sscc. Autumn Handicap, of 150 sovs; one mile and a distance.—Ariom, 8.5, 1; Bonnie Boy, 7.9, 2; Manitau, 7.12, 3. Won by a length and a half, with Manitau a good third. Time, Imin--58 l-ssec. Settlers’ Handicap, of 75 sovs; six furlongs.—Expect, 9.0, 1; Black Lupin, 8.7, 2: Borsil, G. 12, 3. Won by a length. Time, Imin 6 3-ssec. Shorts Handicap, of 100 sovs; five furlongs.—Sinapis, 8.5, 1 ; Lord Possible, 8.1, 2; Vibration, 8.5, 3. Won by a clear length, a head separating second and third. Time, Imin l;)sec. Hack Scurry, of 65 ®ovs; five furlongs.—No Idea 1, Chatsil 2, Cadonio 3. Won easily by a length. Time, Imin 3;\sec.
Maharahara Handicap, of I*3o sovs. one mile.—Lady Nolan, 8.0, 1; Mon Ami, 9.3, 2; Thravo, 10.3, 3. Won by a length and a half, with a length between second and third. Time, Imin •Msec.
W. Young rode Merriinoe in the Hack Scurry, and when a few yards from the post fell off and sustained a slight concussion.
Before the start in the Autumn Handicap, British Maid bolted and threw her rider, completing two circuits of the course before being recaptured. D.J.C. MEETING. Dunedin, February 20. The Dunedin Jockey Club’s meeting was continued to-day in dull weather. The attendance was not so large as on the opening day.. The racing was good and the totalisator receipts amounted to £13,124 10s, as compared with £10,219 10s for the corresponding daylast year.
