SECOND DAY’S RESULTS. Wanganui, February 20. There was again glorious weather for the Fire Brigades’ Demonstration to-day, when there'was a large attendance of tho public. Results: — Disabled Hose Event (live men). — Hillside Railway, I min 12 2-sscc, I ; Invercargill, Imin 1-Hsec, 2; Dunedin City, Imin 15soc, 3. Hastings 1 min 15 3-ssec, and Alexandra imin 17 l-osec, also competed. Hose, Hydrant and Union (five men). —Dunedin City, 43 i-ssec, ] ; Timaru, 45sec, 2; Dannevirkc, 4(ssee, 3. South Dunedin 47sec, and Hillside Railway 48sec, also conqieted. Rescue Event (two men,). —Duncan and Ross (Dunedin City), 22sec, 1; Eddy and Gilberd (Napier), 22 2-ssce, 2; Nelson, 23sec, 3. Caversham 2< sec, and Rotorua 24sec, also competed. Caversham and Rotorua tied with 23 4-ssec, and had to run off. Reel and Ladder (five men) for the Merry weather Shield.—-Alexandra, 5/ sec, 1; Hokitika, 58 4-ssec, 2; Hillside Railway, 59 2-ssec, 3. Caversham 61 2-osec, Dunedin City 61 3 5 sec, and Greymouth 62sec, also competed. In the Consolation Event, Lyttelton 31 4-ssec, Roslyn 33 3-ssec, Ashburton 34 l-ssec, and Napier 34 3-sscc are leading. The leading teams for the championship shield are: Timaru 42 points, Dunedin 42, Hillside Railway 28, Dannevirke 22, Alexandra 20. Only one more event (the Association event for five men) counts for the championship. The competitions will be finished on Saturday.
