The Rugby Union has decided to drop the proposed triangular contest between Auckland, Taranaki and Wellington, and to invite these provinces to play Auckland as follows: Wellington in July, Taranakiin August. The'match is under the auspices of the Manawatu Association. BOWLING. STRATFORD V.~W PLYMOUTH. The New Plymouth green will be busily engaged to-morrow when four rinks from Stratford will engage with the rinks representing the Stratford Boiling Club. The .following will represent New Plymouth:—Wood, Fookes, Burgess, Smart, A. K. (s); Eraser*, Penn. Medley, Smart, H. (s); Humphries, W., Ewing, Goldwater, A., Rundle, S. (s); Waugh, Lnscombe, Brown, R., Firth (s).
