CORDELIA STREET BRIDGE.
At tlio Council meeting last evening, this question was reviewed when an estimate for a bridge of ironbark and jarrah was put before the Council by the Mayor, the cost to be £737. Speaking to the matter, he said that the foreman explained that in the event of the loan being carried, the material from Victoria Bridge should be shifted to Swansea Hoad bridge, which was not in a good state. Cr. Ward: A waste of money. To test the feeling of members, the Mayor moved that the Council cannot seo its way to place a traffic bridge across the river at Cordelia street. Seconded by Cr. King. A long discussion ensued over the merits of traffic and foot-bridges at Cordelia street, at a point between Juliet and Cordelia streets, at Ariel street, and at Brecon Hoad. Dingle. Cr. Thompson moved that provision
bo made for a footbridge at Cordelia Street, cost not to exceed £IOO. This was seconded by Cr. Lajvsdn, and lost. The voting on Cr.
