SAD LACK OF DISCIPLINE.

SENIOR CADETS IN DISGRACE. (Per Preo Association;) '• . '■' '' ' ' : Whangarei, February 4. A reporter Who was present at the Senior Cadets’ parade last night says that the Cadets on the previous week were issued uniforms except stockings, and the boys who paraded last night were wearing variegated socks and suspenders. When the parade started they marched round the hall singing “Here we go round the Mulberry Rush,” and “What’s the matter with * Father,” .whistling “Grenadiers,” passing remarks such as “hold your head up or I’ll sell you.” They imitated fhe -Sergeant-Major, and when he had. given the command “halt,” called out “whoa.” It was a disgraceful turn-out generally. The police were eventually called in, but were unable to arrest anyone, as that power lays with the Defence authorities. M After parade the boys formed squads and paraded the street, led by one with, a mouth-organ, singing parodies and popular songs. Rittle or no attempt was made to keep discipline.
