Dunedin, January 31
John Muirhoad, a widower, while driving the Corporation’s dust-cart, on tiie wharf this morning, appeared to collapse and fall over the dray, the wheel of which passed over his body. When picked up he was dead. It is thoilght liis, collapse was due to heart failure.
The grocery premises occupied by Foulds in King Street were badly damaged by lire early this morning. The fire originated in the residential quarter. The total insurance was £745. Pillaging has been so had on the last three or fo/tr Home boats that local merchants have started to insure against loss in that direction. Wellington, January 31.
Four burglary charges were laid against Constable Charles A free! Returners at the Court to-day, and wore remanded until Wednesday. All the missing property lias been recovered.
