BERNARD’S PICTURES
Notwithstanding the wet evening and tire fact that the people had been attending the picnic at New Plymouth during the day, there was a very fair house at His Majesty’,sdjJ&atro last night. The change of programme was again up to the standard set by the management. Among the chief pictures for the evening were “Robin Hood Outlawed” and “The Prisoner of the Harem.” The former is a very fine piece of acting and the life of Robin and his merry men is strikingly displayed. The latter shows the abduction of a young American girl, and the stirring adventures of a young man-o’-warsman, who succeeds in an attempt to rescue the girl. Particularly fine scenics are “The Poppies” and “Scutari,” the Egyptian street scenes of the latter being very fine. The comics include “Willy at a Boardinghouse,” “Revenge is Sweet,” and “The Hoodoo Hat,” all of which are guaranteed to make even the most serious-minded and hardened picture-goer change his mood to a smiling one.
