AMUSEMENTS.
“COBWEB” SOCIAL. The “cobweb” social organised by the Primitive Methodist Church last night, and held in the Sunday School, tins a distinct success, there being a very large attendance of church members and their friends. The web was a really wonderful affair, many miles of string being used in its construction. Every person had a string, and over fifty were soon busily employed in following their thread through its many convolutions to the prize which lay at the end. While it lasted, the fun was fast and furious, especially when a “doctored” string led its unhappy owner into the queerest of places, outside the hall, and even into the church. A delightful musical programme was rendered, a feature of the evening being the splendid cornet selections rendered by Mr Davies, who played “Tosti’s Good-bye” and “Ora Pro Nobis” in masterly fashion. Concerted items were given by Mr Rogers, the Misses Rogers and Mr Davies; Mr C. Russ and Miss E. Moon contributed solos, and Miss Rogers a violin solo. A short address was delivered by the Rev. Pattison, and a vote of thanks was passed to Mr and Mrs Moon, who were almost solely responsible for the cobweb idea, and the working out of it.
