SLAUGHTERMEN'S STRIKE.
AN AGREEMENT AT MASTER!ON (Per Press Association.) Masterton, January 26. As an outcome of the conference held yesterday between representatives of the Wellington Farmers’ Meat Company and the Slaughtermen's Onion, an agreement was arrived at by which the Waingawa works will remain opeii.. The agreement will be for three years, and will probably be registered under the Aro.tration and Conciliation Act at a later date. The company has agreed to pay 1.50 s per 100 for sheep and lambs, and 2s 6d per head for beef”cattle. The slaughtermen abandoned their demand in tegard to learners, as the agreement provides for one learner in every ten, as at present. The whole of the remaining conditions are similar to those that were previously in existed';?, so far as the local company is concerned. The company will not lake sheep from the clients of other companies. ’
