STRATFORD BEATS BLTHAM. The Stratford Tennis Club sent a team down to Eltham yesterday to play a return match with the local club. The Stratford Tennis Club’s “B” teams played a splendid match with the St. Andrew’s Club, the weather being perfect, and the courts in excel-, lent condition. The St. Andrew’s ladies carried the day, and played a big part in scoring a win for the invaders, the score being 131—115. The following were the scores, the Stratford Tennis Club being mentioned first in each case:—

Misses Wake and Bayly lost to Misses Brayshaw and Craig, 3—7. Misses Bayly and F. Wake lost to Misses Petrie and O’Leary, 3—7. Miss Anderson and Mrs. Anderson lost to Misses Morison and Hignett, 2—7. The last of the Taranaki tournament finals was decided yesterday afternoon, when Misses Brewster and Rundle defeated the Misses Simpson in the Championship Doubles by B—3, G—s. The final for the Dannevirke Handicap Singles, Miss Brewster proved the winner, beating Miss V. Simpson by 50—32.
