Dewerd Fenton, an editor, was fined £9O for utilising the Post Office to circulate sporting items containing indecent articles. THE INSURANCE ACT. The doctors’ panels in London have been substantially increased. THE SHACKLETON CHARGES. Francis Shackleton is also being charged with misapropriating £SOOO belonging to Lord Ronald Gower. The latter in 1910 become one of the guarantors of Shackleton’s £40,000 overdraft at the bank, and also held £6OOO worth of shares in the company with which Shackleton was associated. The prosecution stated that defendant knew the shares were worthless. TIBET. St. Petersburg, January! 21.
Mongolia has agreed to recognise Dalai Lama as ruler of Independent Tibet and arrange an alliance for mutual trade interests.
