AMUSEMENTS.
HIS MAJESTY’S THEATRE. Large attendances continue to be the rule at His Majesty’s Theatre, and last evening there was the usual packed house to witness the screening of tire new series. The films were unusually good, and the selection offered is a wide one, embracing all that is best and most interesting in the cinematographic art. Possibly the picture that pleased the most in the dramatic section was “Broncho Bill and the Indian Maid,” a creation which adds fresh laurels to the Eksail ay Company’s achievements. Mr G. M. Anderson, who is unite the best of the American “cowboy” picture actors, is really immense! “Together” is a drama with a big pathetic interest, and the picture .was watched with interest. Among the other dramas is an interesting Biograph picture, entitled ‘An Unseen Enemy,” the story of which runs:— Two girls and their brother live at the little homestead left them by their late father. The brother having disposed of a portion of the small estate, comes home with the money to show it to his sisters, telling them that they may now enjow a few of the luxuries of life. He places the money in the safe and returns to his office some distance away. Failing to work the combination of the safe, a maid calls up an erstwhile friend requesting him to come and help her. The brother, however, arrives after a series of tantalising delays and apprehends the criminals just as their scheme seems to have succeeded. “Seeing New Orleans” and “Trieste Harbour” are the two scenics, and are good pictures, the former, especially, showing some magnificent views of a country rich in scenic beauties. The are of Ju-Jutsu is strikingly demonstrated in a unique picture, and the film was loudly applauded. The comics are if anything better than usual, and, judging from the laughter produced, they are more than up to standard.
