KILLED BY A FALL OF EARTH
(Per Press Association.) Invercargill, January 16. John and Neil Maloney were work ing in a gravel pit at Myross Bush today, when a subsidence occurred, kill ing John ans severely injuring his bro ther. The deceased was aged 21. LITTLE BOY SCALDED. Timaru, January 16. Bruce Paterson, the three-year-ola son of the Albury stationmaster, was severely scalded by tripping and sit ting in a pail of boiling water in whicl caustic soda had been dissolved. He was removed to a private hospital at Fairlie.

L. Ireland, aged eight years, was ac cidentally drowned while bathing yes terday.
