Louis Cyr, the French-Canadian, who for years was called “the strongcst man in the world, n died at his home in Montreal a few days ago, aged 49. He had an international reputation, was famed in I’renchCanadian lore, and had been given a place in the habitant poems of the late Dr. Drummond. Cyr came into prominence when he was 18, and was taken all over the world to exhibit his wonderful feats of strength. His record for lifting with his back a loaded platform was 4621 b.
