WELLINGTON - LYTTELTON FERRY.
THE TROUBLE SETTLED. (Per Press Association.) Well ington, January 8. The trouble with the Maori’s firemen was settled this afternoon. The men had a meeting lasting about two horns, and eventually decided unanimously to return to work. Meantime the company had anticipated a settlement, and had a start made to get up steam when the firemen had made their decision. A new crew signed on, 11 of the original men and 29 of the stokehold men returning. . The Maori got away just after 8 o’clock for Lyttelton with 300 passengers.
