THE MAORI’S FIREMEN.
SLANDER ACTION THREATENED. EERRV SERVICE ARRANGED FOR (Per Press Association.) .Wellington, January 7. In connection with the trouble on the Maori, a seamen’s meeting held last evening unanimously passed a resolution giving the Press Association until 12 o’clock on Wednesday to remit an apology with the signature of the person who scut the message to the Association office in the first instance, and, failing that, the f nion’s solicitors will he Instructed to proceed against the Press Association in a Court action for slander-. The Maori is now tied up to the Clyde Quay Wharf, and the question of paying off all the crew is being considered. There will, it is understood, he no difficulty about the service to-night. Both the Mararoa and the Mokoia will, it is expected, be able to got away at the regular time. .
