YOUNG MAN SUICIDES.
BY USING A RAZOR. The police received word early this morning that a case of suicide had occurred on Monmouth Road, an investigation proved that Herbert Parkes, a young man, aged about 28, had taken his life. The deceased, who was tall and clean shaven, had, until recently, been partners with a man named Steven, and had run a dairy farm on the Monmouth Road. Tho partnership was wound up, and Parkes, prior to getting other employment, was given work on Mr Bayly’s farm on the same road. This morning he had helped Low to milk, and the latter had left for the factory. Arriving hack, he noticed the back door was open, and the rain beating in. Thinking something had happened, ho went inside and found the unfortunate man lying on the floor, his head having been almost severed, with a razor, still in his clenched hand. That was between seven and eight o’clock. Deceased was -apparently practically penniless, tho sum of 3d being all that was found in his possession. An inquest will be held to-morrow.
