The High Court heard the application of tho Brisbane Tramways Company for an order restraining Justice Higgins from proceeding further with the recent judgment. The company submitted the award was bad, as being contrary to the Queensland Industrial Peace Act, which prohibits preference.. An order nisi was made, returnable before the Full High Court on February 24th. THE CRYSTAL PALACE FIRE. Sydney, January 3. The insurances on the Crystal Palace fire were : Contents £36,000, buildings £27,000. THE YOXGALA DISASTER. Sydney, January 3. The Marine Court of Enquiry into the wreck of the Urilla in Whitsuntide Passage exonerated Captain James Gordon 'entirely. Tho commander of H.M.S. Sealark reported that the rock on which the Urilla struck was wrongly charted. The chart places the rock south of Ripple Rock, whereas it is considerably to the eastward. There is an "opinion in some quarters that the Yongala disaster is attributable to this error. WIRELESS. (Received 8.0 a.m.) .Sydney, January 4. The Secretary of the Australasian Wireless Company has been advised that the amalgamation with that Company and Marconi’s Australasian Branch has been completed, and the new Company will -he formed when the chairman of the Australasian Wireless Company returns from London. THE BLANEY ELECTION. Sydney, January 4. Tho returns from the Blaney election are incomplete. The Liberal has a good lead, Mr Beehy (Labourite) making a close running. A second ballot will be necessary.
