MURDER AT THE ISLANDS.

TWO BROTHERS KILLED

(Received 9.20 a.m.) Sydney, January 4

Details of tho murder of the two brothers, Weber, on Rooke Island, German New Guinea, two months ago, show that Ernest Weber was formerly connected with the German Missionary Society, but severed his connection with it and visited Germany. He returned a year ago with his wife, child and brother, and established a trading station on the island. One morning the inlanders lined up for work and attacked and butchered the brothers and a Chinese overseer. Mrs Weber and child were absent, and escaped. Robbery was the object of the attack. The natives looted the Webers’ house and stores.
