AXEMEN’S CARNIVAL.
FINE SPORT PROMISED AT ELTHAM.
Last year numbers of Stratford residents paid Eltharn a visit on Boxing Day, and on the following day, to witness the Axemen’s Carnival, a fixture whose popularity has increased beyond even the most sanguine hopes of the energetic promoters. This year additional attractions are offered, and the programme is certainly a remarkably fine one, promising an excellent 'day’s sport, brimful of interest. All the champion axemen from the four corners of New Zealand are to be present, and in the cycling events several of the “cracks” will be engaged. A glance into our advertising columns will disclose the train arrangements, which are exceedingly satisfactory. Given fine weather, the Eltham Axemen are bound to beat all other records, good as the previous ones have been.
