St. Petersburg, December 20. The case of the monk Illodor, who was closely confined in Nijui Novgorod, is assuming sensational proportions.

Several newspapers have been prosecuted for publishing lllodor’s pronouncements. Eight thousand followers notified tho Synod of their intention to leave the Orthodox Church. - The Synod decided to unfrock Iljodprs,, whose followers are pressing the Duma to secure the monk’s public trial.
