STRATFORD HIGH SCHOOL.

o ■ MEETING OF COMMITTEE. The monthly meeting of the Stratford High School v Committee on Tuesday evening was attended by Messrs. P. Skoghmd (chairman), E. tV. Hancock, G. Smart, art, and T. C. Fookes. An apology was tendered for Mr J. \W. McMillan. The Visiting Committee reported that the blinds in the front school wanted attending to, and a couple of new ones put in. The lock on the front door was very unsatisfactory. Ihe w.e. at the Technical Schpol should be attended to immediately. The fencing of the school grounds required urgent attention. The caretaker required 50ft. of hose and also the authority to get tap, paint, and whiting and cement, and gravel. In regard to the Jerritorials doing damage by w alking over flower beds, etc., the caretaker asked that the Territorial officers ho given the keys of the shed and gate, and hold them responsible for the care of grounds.

The report was adopted, the matters referred to therein being dealt with in detail.

Mr. Clark reported that both the baths were in need of repair, cracks having appeared in the concrete, while the approaches also were in a dirty state.—lt was resolved that the caretaker attend to these matters dining the recess. . The Secretary was instructed to write the headmaster expressing the committee’s appreciation of the year s successful work as disclosed by the inspector’s report. The following accounts were passed for payment;—H. J. Hopkins (stationery), £1 6s 9d; Bellringer Bros, (paintj etc.), 7s 3d; McMillan ami Fredric (piping, fittings, etc.), £2 Is 8d; Smart Bros., 10s 9d; R. B. Anderson (spring balance), ss; N. JKing (timber), 4s 6d.
