AVIATION.
A HIGH FLIGHT.
London, December 17. An aviator named Pickles biplaned to a height of 7200 feet at Hendon.
DIRIGIBLE BETA AVRECKED
(Received 9.20 a.m.)
The dirigible Beta, with four passengers, started on an experimental voyage from London, when the carburettor froze and caused a breakdown. The Beta alighted on some trees fringing the Empress Eugenie’s residence on Earnboro Hill. The cage was damaged and the occupants severely shaken, having been suspended some time previously. A hough pierced the envelope, which deflated and released the ship. The Beta then sank to the ground and was wrecked.
