Those in possession of subscription lists for the presentation to Air AA r . Webster are requested to forward them to tho secretary, Air J. McClnggage, not later than Tuesday.

To-morrow afternoon the Stratford band will play selections in the Hospital grounds. The new isolation ward will be open for inspection by the public, and a large number of citizens will doubtless avail themselves of the opportunity of seeing this handsome and useful little building.

Writing to the Stratford A. and P. Association, Air AV. I. Lovelock, the Holstein breeder, states that he hopes to send a big entry of “black and whites” to our next show. He also refers in congratulatory terms to the care “man and beast” received -at the hands of the Association’s officials. The executive of the A. and P. Association met last night, when numerous accounts were passed for payment. Special votes of thanks passed included one to Air C.Hopping, the Holstein judge, who declined to accept any payment for his services, or any remuneration for his expenses. The ladies of the AV.C.T.U. were also warmly thanked for their generous and valuable services.

The cirumetances in connection with a case heard at the Upper Hutt on AYednesday were somewhat unusual. A resident named Wilkinson was charged with discharging a pea rifle within the town board boundaries. Wilkinson put in a plea of not guilty, and stated that a bull-dog attacked his collie dog and the fight extended into his house. Every effort to separate the animals, and to save his wife and family from the vicious brute as well as to prevent damage to h s property, failed, and he (defendant) then fired the rifle. Dr. McArthur, S.M., accepted the explanation, and remarked that although perhaps he ought- not to say so, defendant was quite justified in his action. The case would be dismissed.
