AUSTRALIAN POLITICS.
Sydney, December 9. As anticipated, lUr. Beeby lias resigned his seat for Blaynoy and the portfolio of Lands. This leaves the Government practically without a majority in the Assembly, it is understood that Mr. Beeby intends to recontest tlio Biayney seat, and d elected will sit as an independent supporter of the Government, it is unnecessary for the Government to consider its position until after the byelection. It is rumoured that the Cabinet is not a happy family in connection with the. taking over of Government House. One section, led by Mr. McGowan, desire it to lie quietly traiisierred, and another section wishes tor a big demonstration, further trouble is predicted.
