(Received 8.0 a.m A London, December 0. The Remuera’s butter arrived in excellent condition. WELLINGTON AVOOL SALES. (Per Press Association.) Wellington, December C>. At the opening wool sales to-day 10,923 bales were catalogued, aikl about sixty buyers were present representing English, American and Continental firms. Competition was good, though not so good as expected. The most clamant demands came from buyers for Yorkshire and for New Zealand woollen mills. Continental buyers for the most part were represented at the opening ol the sale by purchase of pieces and bellies for the liner grades of wool. The rise was about Id per pound on last December’s prices. A greater advance was looked for in this direction, but on all coarse and medium crossbred wools there was a rise of Ifd to 2d per pound, compared with prices realised at last year’s corresponding sales. Half bred prices today opened at llijd to 12d and 12)el per pound, best crossbred lOd to lOjd. Romney super IOJd to llfd, coarse crossbreds 9d to 9ijel, halfbred bellies and pieces Sijd to 9d, crossbred bellies and pieces 7)d to Sicl, first crutchings 7 id.
Newton King’s Weakly Report. At Kaponga on Friday, 29th, there was a good entry, mostly store cows, which sold very readily and realised as follows: —Fat cows £6 to £G 4s, good store cows £4 7s to £5 Is Gd, small and aged £1 2s Gd to £3 Gs, dairy bulls £8 to £lO 10s, bulls for canning £1 17s Gd to £3 Gs, 15 mouth heifers £3 Gs to £3 7s, dairy cows £5 10s to £7, springing heifers £7 to £8 ss.
