FEDERATION MANIFESTO.
FOOLISH DEAIANDS
(Per Press Association.) Wellington, November 27. The Federation of Labour has issued a manifesto, asking that the situatioi be viewed calmly and dispassionately ft claims that the cause of the eroclm of strikers from Waihi was collusior between the police and the so-callec arbitrationists, to break the strike, am a hundred witnesses were prepared ti swear in Court that tire police aider and abetted lawless acts. Air Cul leu’s administration is attacked, ant the Government’s policy is accused oi being responsible for “riot and out rage.” It- was, they say, the Government and not Federation should In on trial. Enquiry is demanded by the Federation which objects to the Minister waiving the demand aside oi the grounds that- it is not worth while. The Federation will stake its all oi the result. The removal of the coroner is demanded on the ground that he is •an anti-Fcderationist, and “c foe of the Miners’ Union.” An appeal is made for subscriptions in aid o. Evans’ widow and children, toward: which the Federation has voted £IOO The levy on the Federations Union :t to be reduced to 6 per cent, of the weekly earnings, and to solidify tin Union forces a conference to ho convened next January.
