Sydney, November 27. At a mass meeting of slaughtermen on strike it was decided to resume work to-morrow, pending a submission ot tne dispute to arbitration.

r Wellington, November 23. Tiie General Labourers’ Union lias served a demand on the City Council for an increase from 8s 6d per day to is 3d per hour. It is thought the Union has timed its demand in view of the approaching municipal elections.

The New Zealand Federated Slaughtermen’s Association and the- Southland Slaughtermen’s Uniort have applied for cancellation of registration. Only the Auckland and Canterbury Slaughtermens’ Unions have now not made application for cancellation.
