On Tuesday, November 19th, I held my usual four-weekly sale of above produce, the catalogue comprising 30 bales and DO sacks wool, 298/ sheepskins, 13 casks and 52 tins tallow, 8-1! hides, and 5446 calf-skins, besides the usual assortment of horse-hair, cowtails, etc. Bidding throughout the sale was very keen and spirited. Wool.—-As yet there is only a small quantity coming forward, shearing op orations having just commenced. Prices in comparison with last year s opening sale were Id to lid higher. Owing to the unsettled state of the labour market in shipping and other circles, and the increased freights to London, many growers are disposing of their wool in the Dominion ; in this respect I have to report the sale of a 90-bale clip at a satisfactory figure. Sheepskins.—ln keen demand at id per lb. advance. Hides.—There was an unprecedented demand for these, prices being the i highest yet recorded. A careful perus\al' of the prices realised will show the [ extreme values obtained, all classes selling at an advance of from gd to ltd per lb. Values arc likely to remain firm owing to a shortage throughout the Dominion.
