CHRISTCHURCH SESSIONS
(Per Press Association.) Christchurch, November 12. At the Supreme Court, Daniel Gudscll, charged with indecent assault, was found not guilty, and was ■ dlsr charged. John Riwai, of the Chatham Islands, was found not guilty of a charge of breaking and entering and theft. William and John Forrester were charged with the theft cf a cow. After hearing the evidence of the principal witnesses for the prosecution, the Crown Prosecutor asked Lis Honour to direct the jury to brine in a verdict of not guilty, as tho identification of accused was not established. His Honour did so, and the jury returned a verdict of not guilty.
WELLINGTON SESSIONS
Wellington, November 12
The second series of charges against William Knox, of performing illegal operations, were heard toMay. Vhe jury found a verdict of''guilty on both counts in the indictment. The prisoner was remanded till Thursday for sentence.
DUNEDIN SESSIONS. Dunedin, November 1.2. At tho Supreme Court to-day, in the case of Robert Turner, charged with murdering his son at St. Kikh on August 31st, medical evidence went to show that the man was of unsound mind at the time he committed the deed, and on this ground lie was found not guilty, and was ordered by the Court to Joe kept in strict custody at Seacliff Mental Hospital until the pleasure of the Minister of Justice was ascertained.
