The weather is very dull and cold with a strong easterly blowing. The attendance is fair. Results: — Suburban Hurdles.—Master Paul 1, Golden Loop 2, Alma 3. Also ran : Daylight, Bill. Time, 3min 1 3-osec. Nursery Handicap.—Jason 1, Hague 2, Nightwatch 3. All started. Won by a length. Time, 49 4-ssec.

The Auckland Racing Club’s spring meeting commenced to-day in showery weather. The attendance is fair. Results : Maiden Hurdles.—Sphinx 1, Captain Paul 2, Surplus 3. Scratched: Adherent, Pymont, Napper, Tandy and Shebeen. Sphinx took charge at seven furlongs from home, winning by two lengths. Captain Paul was a head in front of Surplus. Ambergris, Rawihia, Nelius, and Blue Mount fell. J hue, 2min 57sec.

Northern Guineas. —Bleriot 1, Prince Soult 2, Monorail 3. Scratched: Gelatine. Our King made the running to the where Bleriot and Prince Soult challenged, the former winning by two lengths, dime, Imin 44 2-osec.

Welcome Stakes. —Tinopai 1, Merry Roe 2, Lady Alicia 3. Scratched: Marshall McDonald. Lady Alicia and Tinopai were fighting out a good finish when Tinopai came through fast and won by a length and a half.
