A SUNDAY “LIGHTHOUSE.” (Per Press Association.) Auckland, November 4. In the Police .Court, George Holt and William Webb wore charged with sly-grog selling. Evidence was given that Molt was in the habit of perambulating the streets on Sunday with a bottle of whisky in one pocket and a glass in another supplying thirsty souls Holt was sentenced to six months’ hard labour. Wohh was granted a remand till Thursday.
“BIBLE IN SCHOOLS.” Wanganui, November 4. At a largely attended meeting of representatives of the different denominations it was decided to form a branch of the New Zealand Bible in Schools League. A strong general committee, upwards of forty members, was appointed, and also a representative executive. THE NEW ZEALAND CADETS. Wanganui, November 4. The New Zealand Cadets, who have returned from Canada, had a grteat reception on Saturday, a very largo crowd turning out to meet them. Tonight they were entertained 1 at a smoke concert bv the Territorials.
