VIA THE MAIN TRUNK.
“PASTE THIS IN YOUR HAT.” The new summer time-table came into operation yesterday. Incidental to this is the running of a second express over the Main Trunk line between Wellington and Auckland. This train is to leave Wellington at 9.10 p.m., Palmerston North 12.47 a.m., Mar ton 2.3 a.m., Taihape 4.9 a.m., Ohakune 6.20 a.m., arriving in Auckland at 4.12 p.m. The Napier train, which is to connect with this express at Palmerston North, is scheduled to leave at 3 p.m. The extra express will leave Wellington every day except Saturdays. The second express will leave Auckland at 11.55 a.m., Ohakune at. 10.25 p.m., Waioru at 11.22 p.m., Taihape at 12.28 p.m., Mar ton 2.10 a.m., Palmerston 3.15 a.m., arriving at Wellington at 6.50 a.m. This train will arrive in Wellington every day of the week, Mondays excepted. Thh extra express on the Main Trunk line will mean a considerable dimihution in the time occupied by the journey from Wellington to Rotorua. With the second express leaving at 9.10 p.m., through passengers to Kotorda will only experience a wait of an hour and a half at Frank ton, and will he able to do the trip in 20 hours 40 minutes, a saving ip time of nearly ten hours. Similarly the journey between Rotorua and Wellington will be reduced from 30 hours 42 minutes to' 21 hours 20 minutes, a saving of 9 hours 22 minutes. Leaving Wellington,, qt 9.10. p.m., travellers will reach Roto-" rna at 5.50 p.m., the next day, and leaving Rotorua at 9.30 a.m., passengers will arrive here at 6.50 a.m. the next day.
