A leap year dance will l)e held in the Foresters’ Hall on Thursday evening next. At the To Wera sale yards on Friday, No vomber Ist,' at 1 o’clock, the N.Z. Loan and Mercantile Agency Co. will sell by public auction HOD head of mixed cattle. New Zealand has a lot to be proud of. For instance, the splendid costumes made at Petone, and called by that name, can beat any imported costume. Morey and Son are showing the latest Petone costumes. Fencers are wanted to do about one mile of cattle fence. A youth requires private board and residence. A reward is offered for the recovery of geese eggs. A trespass notice appears in our advertising columns. A half-draught gelding, 5 years old, broken to double and single harness, is advertised for sale. At the Inglewood saloyards to-mor-row, Messrs Matthews, Bennett and Co. will hold their weekly stock sale. At Kaponga, on Friday, November Ist, at 1 o’clock, Newton King will sell, at Ids yards, 180 head mixed cattle. Messrs (Lilies and Naldcr advertise their Uaweni cattle sale, which takes place on Thursday. At the Kltham saloyards to-morrow, Messrs Lillies and Nalder will hold a bull fair and cattle sale. Particulars are advertised elsewhere. The Stratford Druids are holding their Dutch auction to-night. Members are reminded to fix Tip with the A.D. or at the Hall to-night.
