HUSTON AGAIN BREAKS GAOL.

(Per Press Association.) Whangarei, October 29. The prisoner, Huston, who was recaptured on Saturday night, was brought to Whangarei yesterday, hut again broke gaol last night. He was visited at 11.30 p.m. and then apparently everything was all right. He wae thoroughly searched, his hoots, braces, and hat taken from him. An examination of. the cell showed marvellous ingenuity. The kauri floor, an inch and a half thick, was cut half through and then forced. The prisoner went through a space of 20 inches by 8 inches under the cell, where he scraped the earth away and got free. After ho got out he visited McMahon’s Hotel, stole a pair of boots from the coridor, then visited the room of a hoarder and took £3 10s, a pair of braces and a hat. The police are unable to give any idea of what implement was used, hut it appears to have been a knife or some other sharp instrument. Huston is a desperate criminal against whom are several convictions in America and Australia. The police are making a vigilant search.
